The Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Center for Creativity 2015-2016 STEAM Grant RFP has been released!
The Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Center for Creativity is pleased to offer regional districts the opportunity to apply for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) grants. Funded by the Claude Worthington Benedum and Grable Foundations as well as Chevron, the grants are available to public schools in Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, Beaver, Butler, Mercer, Lawrence, and Westmoreland Counties. STEAM encourages a renewed commitment to creativity, contextual thinking, and other aptitudes deemed critical to college and career readiness demands of the 21st Century, and the Center for Creativity wants to support endeavors that strive toward those goals in innovative and creative ways.
If you wish to be considered for a STEAM grant please complete the attached Request for Proposal. This year we will be awarding over twenty, $20,000 grants. Considered grant proposals must include an integrated STEAM approach that truly embodies Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics in a manner that is meaningful and relevant. Priority will be given to innovative projects where STEAM concepts can thrive and serve as a model for other districts.
Proposals must be received by May 1, 2015 with the expectation that projects will commence early in the 2015-2016 school year. Applicants will be notified of award status on or before June 5, 2015.
We strongly suggest completing your application in Word or GoogleDocs and pasting responses into appropriate fields as users may “time out” of Formstack.
Districts may submit multiple applications, but superintendent’s approval is required for each submission. See rubric below for evaluation details.
