It’s that time of year again! Digital Citizenship Week is October 19 – 25, and we’d love your support in making the week successful. The purpose of Digital Citizenship Week is to build awareness of digital citizenship as a set of defined and teachable skills. Additionally, we are seeking to engage parents, educators, and students across the country as key stakeholders in making sure kids are empowered to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
Common Sense Education is creating a comprehensive online FREE toolkit, which will provide educators with valuable resources, including lesson plans differentiated by grade, school-based activities, and materials to engage and educate parents and caregivers. The site will be available by early October, but you can view what we did last year as a guide for how it will look: www.commonsense.org/educators/digitalcitizenshipweek.
Common Sense is leading this initiative in conjunction with Connected Educator Month, and we are seeking other partners to promote Digital Citizenship week to their networks. As a leading education organization, we are hoping you will join us as a supporting partner. As a partner, your logo will be included on the Digital Citizenship toolkit for schools. In return, we ask that you encourage your networks to get involved and take action. You can do this by:
· Promoting Digital Citizenship Week to your members via email or newsletter
· Sharing Digital Citizenship Week and the toolkit on your social media channels
· Sharing a link to Digital Citizenship Week on your website
· Or any other channels that you use to reach educators.
